What you’ll learn
Ready to grow your sporting foundation skills even more? Want to learn about Rally Obedience? This class is a perfect step between our Dog Sport Fundamental classes and our Rally Together competition class. Designed to grow your foundation skills more and introduce more formal obedience skills that are required for rally obedience.
Topics include:
- Build loose leash walking skills and begin to introduce formal heeling
- Introduce precision obedience skills such as position changes, fronts and finishes
- Grow the training relationship to prepare for working around distractions such as other dogs and people

Dog’s Age: 6 months +
Prerequisite: Completion of one of our Dog Sport Foundation classes or another group foundation obedience class is recommended
Equipment Needed: Round platform (6-9″ diameter & 4-6″ tall). For pivots – so it needs to be able to hold your dogs weight

What You’ll Learn
This 6-week class is our Novice and Intermediate level rally class. We will work on building your team’s communication, obedience skills and introduce sequencing signs (CKC, C-WAGs, CARO).
Topics Include:
- Footwork skills for turns, pivots and step sequence signs
- Position changes and stationary ‘stay’ signs
- Venue specific signs and course sequences (CKC, C-WAGs & some CARO)
- Basic ringcraft practices including leash handling & startline set up routines
- What to expect at trials including how to complete an effective course walkthrough
- And More!
NOTE: Curriculum is tailored to the cohort of students and may be modified
Dog’s Age: 6 months +
Prerequisite: Dogs should have a basic understanding of fronts and finishes, foundation heeling skills and/or loose leash walking skills. It is recommended to have some experience with positions (sit, stand and down).

What You’ll Learn
This class is for those teams ready to focus on refining and expanding their skills beyond novice and intermediate levels. We will work with you to develop you into a highly skilled and well-coordinated rally obedience team capable of performing at advanced, excellence or master levels.
Topics Include:
- Introduction of more complex rally signs and exercises
- Teaching dogs to perform exercises at a distance from the handler
- Transition to off-leash exercises, emphasizing control and reliability
- Emphasis on precise execution of rally signs and maintaining consistent pace
- Strengthening the bond of the team and building the dog’s confidence and enthusiasm for performing in the rally ring

Prerequisite: Teams are not required to have completed novice title; however, it is expected that they have a solid foundation and understanding of novice skills.
